Shungite is a rare form of carbon which is anthracite gray to deep black. The reason that this form of carbon is so rare is because of its molecular structure. One shungite molecule contains about 60 to 70 carbon atoms that together form a truncated icosahedron.
These forms of molecules rarely occur in nature. It’s only recently known that this is even possible.
This natural material can only be found in one place on earth. That is in the Zazhoginskoye settlement in the Shunga region. Hence the name of this stone. The Shunga region is in Karelia, Russia.
Shungite is found among rocks from the Precambrian. Which ended about 542 million years ago. It is the oldest geological era of the earth!
It’s still not clear how old shungite actually is. But the expectation is, that it’s about 600 million years old. That really is something!
These Precambrian rocks consisted of some of the earth’s earliest oil deposits. Especially near volcanoes and where fresh water meets the sea. On those spots were also a lot of algae. They contributed to deposits of oil shale and crude oil. Later on those deposits came under a lot of pressure and heat. Creating Shungite in its almost pure form of carbon.
Because of its molecular structure, it has many healing properties. Especially physically.
Its healing properties are well known by the people of Russia. It has long been used a water purifier.
Even Peter the Great knew about this. He opened in the 17th century the first spa in Karelia. He called it the Martial Waters. People could bathe in spring water purified by shungite, healing most of his soldiers.
This stone has very good absorbent abilities. Both energetically and physically. Not only that, it also has very good disinfectant and detoxifying capabilities. It sucks up all the energies that do not belong in your aura.
Shungite protects you against negative energies and electrosmog.
It also works soothing and grounding. Especially after a shock or trauma.
Shungite resonates with all chakras.
